Africa lends itself so well to Grand Tours; hopping over borders in east Africa, light aircraft flights and helicopters, dhow boats in Zanzibar and experiencing some of the most incredible wildlife encounters in the world, meeting the friendliest people and exploring their fascinating culture.

When to visit

The countries you visit in Africa, and what you do while you’re there, will have an impact on the best time of year to visit. In general east and southern Africa experience a clear, sunny, cool winter from June to September which is a great time to go on Safari. East Africa experiences a very wet season during March and April which can make safari difficult. Botswana’s green season, from November to April is a great time to visit the Kalahari.
