With its steep thatched roofs, indigenous timber structures, stone chimney fireplaces, wide open verandas and its perfectly poised position on the steep Great Fish River banks, this lodge successfully recreates the very homely, historical feel of an early settlers farmhouse.

Its nine suites are sumptuously furnished but aren’t over the top which rightly allows the views to do most of the decorating – private patios look onto the river banks beyond where you might spot a kudu grazing or an otter swimming from your plunge pool.

After a day out exploring the beautiful Kwandwe Private Game Reserve, enjoy candlelit dinners in the boma and after relax in the characterful and inviting sitting room with its antiques, heavy woven rugs, deep sofas and African artifacts to really remind you of not only the wilderness but the history ingrained in your surroundings.
