The impact of your stay:
- Chem Chem, located in the Kwa Kuchinja Corridor, a natural migratory funnel for wildlife vulnerable to hunters and poachers, has actively worked to protect and restore the 20,000-hectare area over the past 15 years. Collaborating with Tanzania National Parks and the Tanzania Wildlife Management Authority, the lodge’s efforts have been instrumental in rejuvenating the ecosystem. An anti-poaching team of rangers diligently patrols and safeguards the wildlife in the region.
- Your stay contributes to funding their non-profit, the Chem Chem Association, which actively engages in various community projects in the local area. These initiatives include upgrading local school infrastructure, offering English language courses for youth and women in the region, and partnering with Tanzanian conservation authorities to provide environmental education across ten villages.
- The Chem Chem Association is also deeply engaged in enterprise development and skills training, empowering communities through education and capacity building. This impactful effort has resulted in the creation of 2,548 jobs, a 30% increase in net income, the establishment of 1,960 small businesses, and a positive transformation in the lives of 2,800 people within their community.
