Visiting Fregate you get this entire tropical island of palm-fringed, coconut-white beaches, indigenous forests, brilliant turquoise waters, and luxury Rock spa shared between no more than the fifty guests staying at the hotel, oh and the island’s resident giant Aldabra tortoises.

A 20-minute flight from Mahe Island this small granite isle just under three square kilometres in size was Conde Nast’s Private Island Winner of 2012; we believe for both its low key, natural luxury and absolute privacy.

The beaches are incredible too (there are seven in total): Anse Victorin is regularly voted one of the most beautiful beaches to visit in the world, and Anse Macquereau beach framed by palm trees on one side and impressive rock formations on the other, offers envious seclusion.

Choose from a number of active pursuits from fishing, windsurfing or perhaps even getting your PADI diving licence.

When to go

The Seychelles enjoys a warm tropical climate all year round. April to May, and September to November are considered the best times to go, but even in the months considered the monsoon season, the showers are short and intermittent.
