Hwange National Park, Zimbabwe
Somalisa Acacia
Immerse yourself in the nature and wildlife of Zimbabwe
Somalisa Acacia is perched on the edge of a seasonal floodplain in Hwange National Park, tucked away beneath the dappled shade of an Acacia grove. Ideal for families with young children or for smaller groups, Somalisa Acacia is found to the west of its sister camp Somalisa. It is the perfect camp if you’re looking to spot elephant herds, sauntering giraffes and lithe cheetahs.
This intimate camp comprises two family tents with inter-leading walkways between the parents and children’s rooms. There are also two additional stand-alone canvas guest tents. Each guest tent includes gauze sliding doors that open up to private decks with panoramic 180-degree views of the surrounding bush.
The main camp area consists of a lounge, dining room, boma and an elephant drinking pool, where you can admire said creatures from the adjacent splash pool as they come up for a drink.
There are a plethora of experiences to enjoy during your time at Somalisa Acacia. The core focus of this camp is to provide families with an outstanding safari experience, with the camp’s child specialist guides offering practical and educational activities for your children and adventures that will delight every generation. From nature walks around camp and storytelling to cultural arts and craft classes, the African Bush Camps’ children-focused Ngwana Club creates a fun and educational environment for children on safari.
You will also be able to take part in morning and afternoon game drives, walking safaris and visits to Mambanje Village.
