Sitting on the far north western coast near Java, Pemuteran is a quiet bay of black sand beaches, a small village and a wild backdrop of dramatic mountain scenery.
Calm, clear waters make snorkelling and diving a popular pastime here, but most come for the outstanding natural beauty and quiet solitude of this remote corner of Bali.
Aside from the remote and rustic beach life, another allure for Pemuteran is the nearby national park of Bali Barat (West Bali National Park), one of the island’s largest national parks. It possesses a diverse topography with a long stretch of sandy beach, coral reefs, as well as islets in the north along with mangroves and savannah. The wildlife spotting in the park is excellent with a variety of birdlife, wild boar, deer and ebony langurs.
There is a small village with just a few restaurant choices, and Pemuteran’s proximity to Java brings a unique cultural element to the area reflected in the local architecture.
