Located in the foothills of the Ijen Plateau and surrounded by mountains and plantations, is Jiwa Jawa Ijen. This beautiful lodge reflects East Javanese culture while offering guests the relax and enjoy this unique part of the world in comfort and style.

19 rooms are spacious and come with a touch of local design. Some feature balconies that look out over Mount Merapi, Mount Meranti and Mount Raung.

Enjoy a taste of Indonesian culture at the Belong restaurant, taken from the Javanese word for clay pot cooking. Expect traditional dishes made from locally sourced ingredients alongside more international flavours. Jiwa Jawa also houses its own art gallery, which features a permanent photography exhibition and holds regular exhibitions showcasing everything from paintings to sculptures.

You’re within easy reach of the Ijen crater, the biggest lake crater in Indonesia standing at 2,300m above sea level. It was formed around 300,000 years ago and the unique combination of yellow-tinted rocks and the blue of the mineral lake is truly spectacular.
