Days 1–3
Three days in Singapore
Start your trip with a three day exploration of the city state of Singapore. This modern metropolis might be compact, but every inch is packed with things to see and do. In between tours, dine in the finest restaurants, go shopping in vibrant Little India and head over to the Marina Bay Sands Skybar for outstanding views across the city and some great cocktails too.

Meet your guide for a day of street food discovery at Singapore’s popular hawker centres. First, go to the Chinatown Food Complex – a multi-storey wet and dry market that is popular among locals and foreigners.
Find a seat amidst the crowd and sip on kopi tarik or teh Tarik – the famous pulled coffee or tea and thick kaya toast, a typical everyday breakfast. Learn about hawker culture in Singapore and taste local snacks such as popiah and kueh pie tee, which is hand-made fresh daily.
Days 3–6

Disembark at the best snorkelling spot at Langkawi and plunge into the island’s inviting waters. Private for you and your train–travelling companions, you’ll be able to swim amongst the colourful sea life and explore the corals in the Pulau Payar Marine Park.

Choose one of the Eastern & Oriental Express’ other available routes: Wild Malaysia. This three–night journey ventures through Taman Negara National Park – one of the oldest tropical rainforests in the world, and takes you on a cultural adventure in Penang.
Days 6–7
A stopover in Singapore
Your luxury rail journey ends back in Singapore, where you’ll rest for the night before your onward travel in the morning. Take the chance to catch anything you missed during your first few days here, and reminisce on your travels so far over delicious food and drinks.
