A cross-country skiing adventure
Traditional Nordic skiing is a fantastic way to experience the nature of Swedish Lapland. After being fitted out with your winter clothing and cross-country skis, you’ll enjoy a half-day trip in the forest looking for wildlife tracks and learning about the boreal forests of the Arctic region. Halfway through, you’ll stop for outdoor fika, which includes tea/coffee and a snack. Continue through the spectacular landscapes, weaving through the huge pine forests where you may even spot a moose or a black grouse.

A Northern Lights snow shoe walk
Enjoy an evening exploring on a guided snow shoe walk. With the stars twinkling above you and endless nature all around you, you’ll head off in search of the stunning aurora borealis (Northern Lights).
Days 3–4
Overnight in Harads
Next, you’ll spend the night in a unique hotel in the wilderness of Swedish Lapland, with an option of booking the one-of-a-kind Treehotel. Here, kids and big kids alike will revel in the chance to climb up into a giant treehouse nestled high up in the pine forest canopy – from this vantage point, you’ll be treated to spectacular views of the Lule River, snow-covered forest and winter skies. Wherever you stay, there are plenty of activities on offer, whether you want to explore the forest on foot or by bike, kayak along the river or simply relax in a sauna.

Where you could stay
Private transfer to your camp in Nabrreluokta via Jokkmokk Sámi village

Visit the historic Sámi village of Jokkmokk and learn about the culture and the traditions of the Sámi people who live here.
Days 4–6
Two nights Nabrreluokta
Enjoy learning more about Sámi culture during your stay at Sápmi Nature Camp, run by Lennart Pittja who grew up in a reindeer-herding Sámi family. The team’s love and respect for the animals and nature that surrounds them is clear as is their passion for sharing their knowledge about Sámi life.
The camp owner’s family spend their year taking care of the reindeer and you’ll get to meet them and see what it’s really like on a working farm. During your visit, they’ll talk you through the year and seasons in Sápmi and how the changing world and climate is affecting their life.

Days 6–8

Enjoy your days exploring Stockholm, Sweden’s beautiful capital. Set over 14 islands, it’s a place of water and greenery as much as the urban, a place where centuries of history meet the constant forward thinking nature of its near 1 million inhabitants. As well as fine museums, trend-setting restaurants and vibrant nightclubs, a short cruise out of the city will find you among the thousands of beautiful islands that make up the Stockholm archipelago, making this a city that feels surprisingly outdoorsy.
