Every Jacada trip is tailored to your personal preferences and interests. Below you’ll find a sample itinerary to inspire your own custom-designed journey.
Days 1–3
Two nights in Athens
There are few places where the past comes to life in quite the same way as in Athens. Often referred to as the cradle of Western civilisation, it’s a city bursting at the seams with culture, intrigue, and beauty. It’s not just a place for history buffs, however, it’s also one of the liveliest European capitals and its thriving café culture ensures you’re not left waning in between all the sightseeing. This is the ideal place to begin your Greece culinary tour.

Where you could stay
A taste of Athens food tour

Take a walk in the picturesque streets of Athens, with your local city expert. While you explore the neighbourhoods of Athens, Plaka and Psirri, you’ll learn about the Athenians and their everyday life. On the way, you’ll try a variety of Greek ‘street food’.
Moving forward, you will visit a family restaurant tucked away in one of Athens’ most popular neighbourhoods, where you will sample authentic recipes with local fresh Greek ingredients.
Days 3–5
Two nights in Nafplio
Nafplio is one of the most historic cities of the Peloponnese region, full of spectacular monuments and sights that have stories that span from the ancient times to the medieval. Venture into the countryside for beautiful views of the ocean and mountains.

Greek farming and beekeeping
Discover some of the authentic flavours and traditions of rural Greece with a visit to a charming organic farmstead and a fascinating beekeeping workshop.
Your first stop will be at a traditional Greek farm where you’ll meet the owners, help feed the animals and collect fresh eggs before making and tasting delicious Greek pies, juice and delicacies at the farmhouse. Your next stop is a unique beekeeping workshop where a honey and bee museum allows you to watch how the bees work in special hives with plexiglass windows.
Not only does this experience contribute to environmental conservation and education, but it also helps to preserve traditional agricultural knowledge within the rural community.

Ouzo and honey tour
Venture into the world of Greek ouzo and tsipouro, as you visit a local distillery where you’ll learn about the history and characteristics of the drinks. Then take a walk through olive and orange groves before visiting a traditional honey production unit where a beekeeper will show you how the hives are maintained and harvested.

A tour of historic Nafplio
Enjoy a tour around this city which preserves fascinating, timeless relics from three different historical phases, with elements of neoclassical, Venetian and Turkish styles found in the architecture of the buildings.
Olive harvesting

The production of olive oil is one of Greece’s most important agricultural activities, and during this experience you’ll get to witness and even participate in the age-old tradition of olive harvesting and milling at Liotrivi Estate.
Under the watchful eye of the estate gardener, you’ll gather the ripe fruit by hand, using small rakes and olive nets draped on the ground. It’s a great way to learn about the traditional, low-impact farming methods used here. Then you’ll watch as the olives are crushed in the old stone mill to produce fresh oil, an ancient practice dating back thousands of years. If you choose to adopt a tree, which the staff will care for at the estate, you’ll receive a certificate, updates and pictures documenting the tree’s annual progress and a bottle of extra virgin olive oil or a jar of olives.
Days 5–7
Two nights in Chania
Exuding a Venetian charm, Chania is the second largest city in Crete. Scenic monasteries, traditional houses and elegant mansions are part of what make the old part of town so special.

Days 7–10
Three nights in Santorini
Floating in the southern Aegean Sea is a little slice of Greek heaven. A huge volcanic eruption 3,500 years ago left a caldera which turned the then-circular Santorini into a crescent-shaped island, one that has been charming visitors since they first arrived.
Santorini is the largest island of a small archipelago, wrapping its arms protectively around the islands of Palea, Nea and Thirasia. Sheer cliffs hundreds of metres high shield coves and beaches made up of red, white and black sand, while pretty villages of limewashed cubic houses creep up the sides, nestled into every nook and cranny.

Positive impact
We seek out unforgettable experiences that benefit both local communities and the environment.
Melania and Marta helped us to craft an unforgettable experience on our first visit to Greece. It started with a quick call with Melania when she asked about our interests (food, culture and history) and preferences (a good blend of seeing historical sites and enjoying nature). She put together the perfect itinerary for us where we had a perfect blend…
