Overview
In the captivating Barbagia region of Sardinia, a rugged yet enchanting landscape unfolds, just a stone’s throw from the sea. Amidst junipers and intricate embroidery, terracotta and inlaid craftsmanship, Su Gologone embodies the essence of Sardinian artistry and a rich culinary heritage. Originating as a restaurant in 1967, the visionary founder, Giuseppe “Peppeddu” Palimodde, sought to showcase traditional cuisine in a region known for its challenges. With the culinary prowess of his wife Pasqua, the restaurant in Oliena quickly became a revered destination, attracting visitors from near and far eager to savour its delectable offerings.
Building on this success, the concept expanded to offer accommodations. What started as eight rooms in 1975 has evolved into a collection of 71, each transcending the label of “rooms” to become immersive journeys into Sardinian art, culture, and hospitality. From the enchanting Bar Tablao, a stage for unforgettable aperitifs, to the Terrace of Dreams and Wishes, where stars paint the sky, and the captivating Botteghe d’Arte Su Gologone Style, every space is a testament to boundless creativity.
