A 1920s building, the hotel was completely refurbished in 2006 in an elegant style mixing the contemporary with the historical aspect of the building.

Isla Negra: Pablo Neruda's Home
Isla Negra is a small coastal village that was chosen by poet Pablo Neruda as a residence in the late 1930s and is now a museum. Neruda, a lover of the sea, and a passionate collector of all maritime things, built the home to resemble a ship with low ceilings, creaking wooden floors, and narrow passageways.
Casablanca Wine Region tour
The Casablanca Valley is a relative young wine area where innovative winemakers only started planting vines in the mid-1980s. Due to the warm temperatures during the day and the cool coastal temperatures at night, this valley produces magnificent Merlot, Syrah, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir as well as Riesling, Viognier, Pinot Gris and Gewurtztraminer.
Santiago
The Singular Santiago
The Singular Santiago is a luxury hotel in the Lastarria neighbourhood of Santiago.
A sister hotel to The Singular Patagonia, The Singular Santiago is located in one of the artiest areas of the Chilean capital, Lastarria: the Museum of Fine Art, the Museum of Visual Arts, and the Gabriel Mistral Center are all within walking distance of the hotel.
It’s not just the location that’s appealing: the rooftop pool provides a scenic setting in which to both cool down after a day exploring Santiago and take in the view; the spa offers post- or pre-long-haul flight massages; and the Singular Restaurant serves French dishes alongside local specialties, such as Guanaco and Penca, to keep the flavour decidedly Latin. The ninth-floor Sky Bar is the perfect place to polish off a day in Lastarria.
There are 62 rooms: the Patio Rooms and the Classic Rooms overlook the Plaza Mulato Gil, and the Deluxe Balcony Rooms have views across the Parque Forestal. All rooms at The Singular benefit from stylish decor and all the mod-cons you could wish for, including wireless internet, LCD TVs, large and comfortable beds, and well-equipped, spacious marble bathrooms.
Santiago Vega Central Market Tour and Lunch with Chef Richard Knobloch
Chef Richard Knobloch guides you through Santiago’s largest market, La Vega Central, to source native vegetables, razor clams, and octopus, which you’ll prepare - and eat - at his restaurant where there will also be some expert Chilean wine pairings.
Torres del Paine
Awasi Patagonia
You wouldn’t think that the spectacular Patagonian region of Torres del Paine could get any better regarding luxurious design-led hotels, but it has, courtesy of the exclusive sibling hotel to Awasi Atacama, and the only one in the area to do tailor-made excursions for each guest. Adding to that, a portion of the proceeds from each guest’s stay helps to support The Awasi Patagonia Conservation Project, which aims to create a natural corridor for wildlife. Awasi guides also help to monitor the puma populations and keep hunters away, increasing the positive impact the property and its guests are able to have on the region.
14 wooden-clad, shipping crate-style ‘villas’, which were inspired by the old outpost shelters, lie scattered over the wind-protected plains of its own private reserve and facing the unfolding scenes of Lake Sarmiento and the three-tower peaks. Inside these, the warming and minimal Scandinavian cabin decor nicely cushions you from the harsh scenes outside, with natural wood interiors, large inviting beds, your own living room with log fireplaces, a hot tub, and with every modern amenity to hand. The master villa, which has two bedrooms, is good for families.
The dispersal of these freestanding villas befits the solitude of your surroundings, giving you a pleasing level of privacy but also a heightened experience of the landscape’s isolation.
The main house, just a short walk from the villas, features a Relais & Chateaux member restaurant, terrace and living area. Awasi is renowned not only for its style, but for tailoring its tours for each individual guest and for serving delectable gourmet food. Guests can choose whatever excursions they want to do, without having to compromise for the sake of a group.
Puma tracking in Torres del Paine
Watch one of the world's largest cats prowl across the Patagonian Steppe. This puma tracking outings take place at sunrise and sunset to coincide with the times of day when Torres del Paine's pumas are most active. Certain levels of physical fitness are required, as well as a calm disposition, as you will need to cross the open Steppe – sometimes at a fast pace – to get the best views of these beautiful creatures. Our local experts know the lay of the land better than anyone, and are familiar with puma habits, the routes they routinely take, and the ‘hotspots’ where they rest or raise their cubs.
Calafate
Eolo
Eolo sits on a 10,000-acre estancia in the Patagonian steppe between the town of El Calafate and the majestic Perioto Merino glacier. Surrounded by lakes, vast plains and the imposing peaks of the Andes, this is nature at its very best.
The hotel has been built to ensure that wherever you are, you can take in these incredible views. Eolo is centred around a courtyard garden, a nifty bit of architecture that means guests can enjoy the great outdoors whilst being protected from the wild Patagonian winds.
There are 17 beautiful rooms characterised by pastel colours and simple lines. Nothing is overly complicated here, simplicity is key when your surroundings are so dramatic. There are no televisions in the rooms, instead guests are encouraged to curl up on one of the sofas that are placed in front of the large picture windows. Eolo was inspired by the historic estancias of the area and you’ll find antiques, maps, telescopes and lots of other traditional touches.
The food at Eolo is a real highlight. Excellent local, seasonal produce is used to create a dynamic and exciting menu. The views that await from your dining table make the experience even sweeter.
This is an area begging to be explored, and there are plenty of activites on offer. Hiking, horseriding, birdwatching and mountain biking are some of the experiences to keep you busy. At the hotel itself there is an area for relaxation with a small heated pool, dry sauna and massage room.
All meals and non-alcoholic drinks are included during your stay at Eolo.
Privately guided tour of the Perito Moreno Glacier
Arriving at the humbling sight of the vast Perito Moreno Glacier, your guide will then take you on a tour along the specially built walkways. These give you superb viewpoints and photo-taking opportunities while your guide brings to life the environmental and local importance of the glacier.
The Perito Moreno glacier is 30 kilometres long, this imposing wall of ice towers some 70 metres above the walkways that offer you a selection of different views from the promontory of Península de Magallanes that juts out into the Lago Argentino. As you stand below gazing up at the massive rugged face, you become aware that the glacier is very much a living, evolving thing, as creaks and cracks like rifle shots preface the “desprendimientos”, huge chunks the size of houses which break off and fall in slow motion through the air into the black waters. They hit the surface with an almighty crash, submerging and rising up again to bob away as icebergs into the centre of the lake. The biggest and most spectacular “desprendimientos” occur when the glacier has grown to form a bridge across to the promontory, cutting off the water flow between Brazo Rico and the Canal de los Témpanos. Increasing pressure builds up as water and ice accumulate on the Brazo Rico side and the water soaks into the ground at the point at which the ice touches the land, slowly creating a tunnel. The tunnel becomes wider and wider until the pressure of the glacier moving forward means that the bridge fractures most dramatically at a given point. Although local legend has it that this takes place every four years, in fact the last time this event occurred was in 2004, when it brought photographers, film crews and glacier enthusiasts from all over the world to wait for weeks on end for that special moment.
Mini ice trekking expedition
This ice trekking expedition is a two-hour six-kilometre trek. This will begin at the "Under the Shadow" port to board a charter boat that will take you across Lake Rico, getting you up close to the glacier wall, to reach the opposite shore and the south wall of the Perito Moreno glacier. You will be briefed by your expert mountain guides and put on a pair of crampons. There will then be a two hour guided circuit introducing you to the fascinating landscape of the glaciers: streams, small lagoons, gullies, cravasses and plenty of ice formations of the most incredible blues. The trekking is moderate. The ice surface over which you walk is irregular, but firm and safe. You will receive explanations about flora, fauna and general glaciology of the region and also about the particular phenomenon that happens in the Perito Moreno Glacier and eventually produces its rupture. After the walk, a stroll through the forest brings you back to the shelter. A picnic lunch and a glass of whiskey will either be on the ice or back at the shelter.
Your guide will collect you from your hotel and bring you by private transfer to Calafate airport in time for your onward flight.
Ushuaia

Driving out of Ushuaia, enter the National Park through a valley to Ensenada Bay, your first stop. From here you can see Redonda and Estorbo Islands and, on the opposite coast of the Beagle Channel, the snow-white mountains of the Sampaio chain in Chile. Continue on through lush sub Antarctic forest to Roca Lake and Lapataia River for a walk and reach the so-called end of the Pan American route at the southernmost tip of this route in Latin America.

Rio de Janeiro
Fasano Rio
Visit Christ the Redeemer on Corcovado mountain

At 710 metres (2,330 feet) above the centre on the Corcovado hill, the statue is surrounded by wide, open terraces from where you get unbeatable vistas of the city's impressive littoral, the southern neighbourhoods of Copacabana and Ipanema, the Lagoon, the Sugar Loaf and the town of Niterói.

You'll continue to Barra Beach for some acai juice then travel from São Conrado Beach to Leblon by the beautiful and scenic Niemeyer Avenue that runs between the mountain and the sea.
Botequim 'chopp' tour
This is for those who want to know what it's really like to be Carioca - to experience the typical, easygoing day-off of a Rio native. A 'botequim' is a casual bar that brings together all types of people from the community in a relaxing but lively atmosphere. On this walking tour visit five local favorites. Start at Pizzaria Guanabara, a lively pizza joint on Av. Ataulfo de Paiva where locals can always be found having a great time until the early hours. Close by is Jobi, a trendy establishment dating back to 1956 that many claim to be the home of the best 'chopp', or draft beer, in town. Next up is Bar Veloso, a bar located on Rua Aristides Espinbdola geared toward early bossa nova music and one of the more popular hangouts in Leblon. Take a walk along the beach to Bracarense on Rua José Linhares. This bar has tables and chairs set up outside in a spot that is perfect for people-watching, plus a happy-hour feel and a mixed crowd. The final stop, Academia de Cachaça, is known for its various cachaças and caipirinhas. Here enjoy a final chopp to wash down a delicious feijoada (mouthwatering national dish made with beans, rice, meats and more). One chopp will be included in each botequim, but you are free to indulge in more if you desire!
Brazilian cooking class
While sharing similarities with its South American neighbours, Brazilian cuisine is very distinct. Stretching from the Amazon in the north through the fertile plantations of the central coast and on to the southern pampas, the food of Brazil spans a unique mix of cultures and cuisines. The native population contributed popular ingredients like cassava and coconut milk, African slaves influenced the cuisine of the coastal states, especially Bahia, and throughout the country a Portuguese heritage is reflected in a variety of dishes.
Your afternoon of cooking demonstrations and lunch starts with a quick class on how to prepare (and drink) Brazil's famous caipirinha. You'll then gather around the stove to demonstrate how some great Brazilian dishes are prepared. Members of the group will help in the preparation. During the class you will also hear some interesting stories about some of the history and traditions of Brazilian food. At the end of the class all of the participants will sit together to enjoy the delicious meal prepared by the group.
Some of the dishes you might help prepare and eat include feijoada pork stew, seafood stew with coconut milk and coconut pudding. Please note the menu is subject to change, and please let your travel designer know if you have any dietary requirements.
Santa Teresa neighbourhood tour
The faded grandeur of this part of the city, often referred to as 'the Montmartre of Rio', set into the hills close to the centre of town, still retains a rich cultural atmosphere of art, music and history. Your guide will take you to the Ruins Park, a cultural centre in the remains of a 19th-century house, which has a Belvedere that commands some of the best views over Rio.
Lapa neighbourhood
Take a panoramic tour of Lapa area famous for the old aqueduct “Arcos da Lapa” that now holds the tram line to Santa Teresa and it is an iconic place of the city. We will also have a stop to visit the famous Celeron stairs where 215 steps were covered by the Chilean artist Jorge Selarón as his 'tribute to the Brazilian people'.
Carnival experience
This tour will introduce you to the artistry and imagination involved in the creation of Carnival. You will witness the construction and production process of thousands of costumes and incredible floats. This experience includes a visit to Grande Rio Samba School warehouse to discover the secrets behind the making of carnival, getting up close to gigantic floats, learning about the history of samba and the intricate details of the Carnival Parade, a chance to dress up in past carnival costumes, and experience the music and enjoy a welcome Caipirinha drink.
As you can’t leave Rio without trying at least a few steps of samba, this tour will include a quick introduction to the rhythm of this dance at the Grande Rio.
Complete your immersion in carnival with an electrifying percussion workshop. Percussionists of Pimpolhos da Grande Rio, the children's samba school , will join in to teach you basic beats of cuica, surdo, tamborim, tan-tan, pandeiro, all instruments created by sambistas for playing samba. This fun activity will show you how an orchestra of samba, called bateria, can lift an entire stadium like the sambadrome.
Visit Rio Scenarium in Lapa
Enjoy your evening at one of the city's most photogenic nightspots, Rio Scenarium has three floors, each lavishly decorated with antiques. Balconies overlook the stage on the 1st floor, with dancers keeping time to the jazz-infused samba, choro or pagode filling the air, a perfect place for you to practice your new samba dancing skills.

About your Travel Designer
I fell in love with travel when I set off on my first solo adventure aged 18 and I haven’t really stopped exploring since. I’ve been lucky enough to visit 52 countries and travel to all 7 continents. I’ve travelled all over Latin America, from Cuba all the way to Patagonia. I was in awe of the incredible landscapes, fascinating culture and warm people I found in each new country and I completely fell in love with this part of the world. I now travel to Latin America every year, continuously enriching my knowledge of the region. My personal passions are nature, wildlife and gastronomy so my favourite trip memories vary from snorkelling with penguins in Antarctica’s icy waters to hiking through the Himalayas in Nepal to tasting my first ceviche in Peru. There is still so much of the world left for me to explore and many new experiences to have, so I plan to keep on travelling as much as possible.
