Panna National Park, India

Sarai at Toria

A peaceful riverside retreat

Sat on the banks of the River Ken, Sarai at Toria is a charming rural hideaway that prides itself on connecting guests with their beautiful natural surroundings.

Spread out over nine acres of undulating land are eight cottages built using locally sourced stone, wood, brick, bamboo and grass. Mud walls and thatched roofs ensure they blend effortlessly into the landscape.

Spacious and bright inside, rooms are decorated with traditional Indian fabrics and feature sky-high ceilings and wildlife photography on the walls. A private verandah is the perfect spot to simply sit and relax, the sound of the grass swaying in the breeze the only thing breaking the silence.

A large dining area and lounge have been built on the highest point so you can enjoy the views out across the river towards the plateau of Panna National Park. This is also the best spot to watch the sunrise and sunset. After a day of exploring, return to the lodge for a candlelit meal under the stars.

The surrounding jungle and grasslands are home to many beautiful dragonflies, birds, jackals and jungle cats. Discover this rich area on a nature walk or enjoy a boat ride along the calm waters of the River Ken.
