Some of South America’s most awe-inspiring scenery
Patagonia is a land of breathtaking vistas in the heart of Latin America – towering blue glaciers, crystalline turquoise lakes, rugged mountains brushed with snow, wide, open spaces and crisp clean air. This majestic region is shared by both Argentina and Chile, and with so much to see and do in each, our expert travel designers can ensure you make the best of it, with a luxury Patagonia tour made bespoke to you.
Our Patagonia private tours span the length and breadth of the region. Begin in Torres del Paine National Park in Chile, a hiker’s paradise renowned for its granite spires, stunning lakes and abundant wildlife including pumas and guanacos. On the Argentinian side, Los Glaciares National Park near El Calafate is home to the colossal Perito Moreno Glacier. Further north in Argentina, the trekking hub of El Chaltén offers access to the Fitz Roy massif, while the Atlantic coast provides incredible marine wildlife viewing, including whales and penguins.
Feel the thrill of adventure by ice hiking across the frozen surface of the Grey Glacier in Torres del Paine, or kayak through the startlingly blue waters below. Watch one of the world’s largest cats prowl across the Patagonian Steppe on a puma tracking expedition with seasoned guides, or spot southern right whales during a whale watching tour at Peninsula Valdes.
Stay at a traditional estancia ranch, where Chile’s gauchos will show you the ropes, leading you in cattle herding and horse riding across the vast open plains before a typical asado barbecue. This is a destination where adventure meets luxury, promising a memorable journey into one of Earth’s last wild frontiers. When to visit Patagonia
Generally speaking, the best time to visit Patagonia is during the summer months of December to February. This period signifies better weather and slightly warmer temperatures for more comfortable hiking. Across the region, which stretches through southern parts of Chile and Argentina, you can expect temperatures to reach 15°C (59°F) during the day.
You can also visit during the shoulder months of September to November and March to May, when spring wildflowers and autumn foliage punctuate the trails.
While in winter (June to August), it can be a great destination for skiing, it’s important to note that many trails and lodges close due to snowy and cold conditions.
