5 Day/4 Night Lares Trek

A more condensed version featuring major Inca sites and the best trails

This is a more condensed version of the seven day itinerary, but includes all the major Inca sites of the Sacred Valley and the best Lares trails.

For instance the first three days will involve the most trekking and you will explore the Pisac Valley and market town, hiking through mountain passes past the impressive Vilcanote and Vilcamba mountain ranges to stop at local mountain communities and gourmet lunches. Stay at the comfortable Lamay Lodge on the first night, the Huacawasi Lodge on the second and a your chosen hotel near Ollantaytambo on the third.

After three days of hiking, going from Quiswarani to Huacawasi and Patacancha, exploring the ‘Weaver’s trail’ and taking in the views of lakes and condors, day four will be more relaxing and exploring the impressive ruins of Ollantaytambo before catching the train to Machu Picchu. Day five you explore the evocative ruins of the Machu Picchu Sanctuary with a two-hour guided tour after which you have the option of climbing the sheer Inca staircase of Huayna Picchu. Return that afternoon on the train to Ollantaytambo then a private vehicle back to Cusco to continue your trip.
