Capoeira workshop

A walking tour of Pelourinho
This morning, discover Salvador’s history through Pelourinho, the historical and cultural heart of the city. Called “Pelô” by the locals, the neighborhood is preserved as part of UNESCO cultural heritage. Navigate its narrow streets with your local guide, who’ll teach you about the colonial architecture in Portuguese baroque style. Visit São Francisco Church, built in the 17th century, before heading to Pelourinho Square, the core of the old town. Here you’ll find great craft shops, museums, restaurants, and bars.

Traditional Capoeira workshop
Classified as Brazilian National Cultural Heritage, Capoeira Angola is a traditional form of martial arts found in Brazil. Today, you’ll learn about the intricate craft and skill that goes into this visually impressive art form, as well as the deep philosophy associated with it, during an immersive class led by master capoeiristas. They’ll teach you the history of the martial art and some basic moves, as well as the importance of music, played on a one-stringed instrument called a berimbau.
Days 3–6
Wilderess adventure in the Amazon
Immerse yourself in the last great natural wilderness: The Amazon. This mighty rainforest spans nine countries, and now you’ll have the privilege of exploring the Brazilian part. Head out on foot with an experienced guide, or set out on the water with guided canoeing to discover the incredible wildlife that calls this lush forest home. The scale, variety and richness of this ecosystem is truly breathtaking, and your travel designer will work with your chosen lodge to help you make the most of your time here.

Outdoor explorations

Depending on the weather conditions, you’ll be able to try a number of different activities and excursions during your stay, built to suit explorers of all ages. Canoe along the waterways past verdant scenery and cacophony of forest sounds, or head out on foot to learn about the different varieties of trees and fruits and practise some survival strategies with an expert guide. Explore the waterways in the hopes of spotting pink dolphins, or set out at night for a nocturnal wildlife watching trip like no other.
Days 6–9
Three days in Ibitipoca
Continue your wild adventure to Ibitipoca, an off-the-beaten-path nature reserve just a few hours’ drive from Rio de Janeiro. Conservation efforts here have allowed for the protection and regeneration of regional flora, fauna and wildlife. Keep your eyes peeled for 33 species of monkey, as well as toucans, jaguars, wild boars and even pumas. Enjoy a variety of guided activities tailored to your interests to help you enjoy this beautiful place.
