The hotel is located in the restored El Porteño building, an enormous silo built in 1902 that produced grain for post-war Europe. A red, black and white colour scheme runs through the hotel teamed with exposed brick walls and concrete pillars that hark back to its industrious past.
Rooms and suites are filled with eye catching touches such as hand embroidered throws and filigree mirrors and feature huge windows which look out over Ecological Reserve, the parks, Río de la Plata and the quaysides of Puerto Madero.

Overview
Estancia Puema Hue is a beautiful lodge nestled in the heart of Nahuel Huapa National Park – the country’s first and largest national park. This really is one of our absolute favorite properties in all of Argentina.
The lodge is set within 500 acres of wilderness at the southern end of Lake Gutlerrez. The landscape is one of rolling hills, pristine forest, valleys, waterfalls and creeks. Estancia Peuma Hue means ‘house of dreams’ in local Mapuche language and we certainly think it’s a very special place.
There are 14 rooms spread across five houses, all with views of the lake. Decor throughout the lodge is very traditional with wooden floors and beams, local textiles and warm colours. There are even fireplaces in the living rooms of each house. Poplar House is the main house of the estancia and as well as having rooms, it is also where meals are served. Food is a real treat here with many of the ingredients grown in their own kitchen garden and orchard.
Alternatively, choose to stay in one of their luxury yurts. These canvas yurts are 16ft in diameter and are set on rasied decks. They feature king-sized beds and en-suite bathrooms, and are a wonderful way to really immerse yourself in the natural surroundings.
There is so much to do during your stay at Estancia Puema Hue, from hiking, horse riding and kayaking to fishing, birdwatching and yoga. Children are very welcome here so this is a wonderful choice for active families.

A chic and highly anticipated addition to Mendoza’s collection of boutique properties.
A contemporary, low-lying structure, the hotel seems to have been built so as not to disturb the uniform horizon of the Uco Valley’s perfectly combed vineyards. The smart collection of twenty-two villas echo this style and with their exposed interior stone facades, wall-to-ceiling windows, earthy tones and simple elegance combine for an aura of modernistic calm. There are one or two bedroom sizes available, and each comes with its own modern kitchen, sitting areas and private patio.
And there’s more.
The hotel has additionally modeled itself on being a culinary resort as well, managing to secure a restaurant designed by the internationally renowned chef, Francis Mallmann. There is a Winery on the estate for tastings, wine making tours and activities, not to mention a full spa for expert pampering.
Try some horse riding in the morning through the vineyards and high blue skies, followed by breakfast and a swim in the infinity pool that drops off into the combed lines of twisted vines beyond. In the afternoon, maybe some wine tasting with lunch and a spoiling treatment at the spa.

Mendoza horse-riding tour
On sunny days beneath blue skies, there are few better ways to slow down and soak up your surroundings than on horseback. Ride through the mountains near Mendoza before sitting down to enjoy a traditional Argentine asado barbecue at El Puesto Ranch.
The Central Valley wineries
The Central Valley or Primera Zona (the closest to the city of Mendoza) includes the counties of Luján de Cuyo, Maipú, Guaymallén and Godoy Cruz. This is the home of Malbec and where some of the most prestigious Argentine wineries are located. On a full-day tour, we suggest mixing tours and tastings at smaller, boutique establishments and larger operations. You’ll stop at one of the top restaurants to savour wine as it is meant to be served; with great food.
Lujan de Cuyo and Maipu Valley
Enjoy a completely tailored and private full-day tour of the best wineries situated in Mendoza’s Lujan de Cuyo and Maipu valleys. This region has an interesting variation of larger to more boutique and family-owned wineries to choose from and at each winery there will be a tour and wine tasting session. Lunch will be at a restaurant or bodega of your choice along the tour, with helpful recommendations made by your guide.
Gaucho life in the Pampas

- An authentic estancia experience
- Watch polo matches, or learn how to play yourself
- Embrace the history of the authentic buildings
- Boutique size of just 11 rooms creates an intimate and peaceful atmosphere
- Enjoy a drink in La Pulperia – an authentic gaucho inn
Overview
One of Argentina’s best boutique estancias for experience and elegance, La Bamba de Areco is an intimate, authentic stay in the heart of the Pampas plains. Just 120 kilometres from Buenos Aires, and within striking distance of one of the oldest towns in Argentina, San Antonio de Areco, the estancia captures the rugged romance of the gaucho way of life whilst still being impeccably stylish, well–run, and easily accessible.
Avenues of plane trees lead you through the ranch’s lush parklands and paddocks to the typically 19th-century corralled casco (main house) painted in proud Vermillion red and white – permitting in parts a couple of vines to steal up its walls. The building was once an important private home along the Camino Real (Royal Road), and still retains the grandeur of its history.
Its eleven rooms are decorated in a smart, farmhouse style that blends classic rustic-chic with contemporary elegance. They open up onto the ranch’s shaded wraparound patios, perfect for relaxing, watching the ponies and al fresco dining in summer. La Pulperia is the estancia’s own authentic gaucho inn converted to a separate lounge bar and boutique. Naturally, there are a number of equestrian activities to choose from, including spectating polo matches.
