Highlights
- Nine private 'Casas'
- Quartz lined pool created from forty thousand aventurine quartz stones
- Serene spa with indoor and outdoor treatment rooms
- Poolside restaurant serving delicious cuisine
Overview
Run by Wilbur Das, creative director of the Diesel fashion label, Uxua exudes a great character and attention to detail, all with a rustic theme that merges effortlessly with the local setting. Accommodation is set in a number of private ‘Casas’ each with a unique style and character and ranging from one to three bedrooms; one is even a tree house. As a stunning centre-piece to the accommodation is the pool, lined with 40,000 turquoise aventurine quartz stones (native to Bahia) that are a testament to the careful and painstaking care taken to create a hotel that is at once unique but with roots in the location it is based.
The hotel is located on the ‘Quadrado’ or village square of Trancoso and has a spa with an extensive range of treatments. The restaurant serves delicious cuisine made with fruits and spices grown in the hotel’s own gardens. Many of the ‘Casas’ have their own full kitchen and local chefs can be brought in to give you a lesson in local cuisine. The Casas themselves are large and equipped with all the amenities one would expect in a luxury accommodation, some include jacuzzis and private plunge pools.

Overview
The Fasano Sao Paulo is simply a world class hotel, with an understated style, complete luxury and impeccable service throughout.
Located in Jardims, just off of the famous shopping street of Oscar Freire, there’s much to do in the immediate vicinity (an important consideration in a city of this scale).
The Fasano’s facilities are all top class, with a spa, a bar and two restaurants which are among the very best in the Sao Paulo (the Fasano family, built their reputation on their restaurants before moving into hotels).
All the rooms in the Fasano have been decorated with a real eye for quality; every item, fixture and fitting has been carefully sourced and the rooms are extremely comfortable and spacious.
All in all, the Fasano Sao Paulo is a class act throughout.

Overview
Hotel Unique has a high design theme as audacious as its name. A cut off disc, with a rooftop restaurant and bar on the top and port-hole style circular windows (though-somewhat larger than usual), give the impression of a stylised boat.
This is a hotel with a definite ‘wow’ factor, almost every detail is there to impress and the rooms are impressively kitted out with all manner of high-tech gadgetry. They are all also extremely comfortable and the views out across the city are superb. Indeed the rooftop bar and pool area offer one of the best vantage points in Sao Paulo to appreciate the megatropolis skyline.

Overview
The Fasano Rio is the most stylish hotel in Rio. Set on Ipanema beach front and designed by Phillipe Starck, this is a stunning property. The Fasano brings an air of understated cool and luxury that has been somewhat lacking in some of the other beach-front hotels in Rio.
The rooms are immaculately decorated with a combination of period pieces, original artwork and chic-modern style. We recommend the Deluxe sea view category or above. Each has a private balcony with views out to sea and king size beds with Egyptian cotton sheets and goose down pillows. For that extra touch of luxury and pampering, there is also butler service.
The facilities include an excellent bar, perhaps the city’s best seafood restaurant and a stunning rooftop infinity pool.

Overview
Located at the best end of Copacabana beach (adjacent to Ipanema) the Sofitel Rio de Janeiro Ipanema is one of the best beachfront hotels on this strip. Rooms are high quality having been recently refurbished in a modern style with the luxury amenities that you expect in a 5 star hotel.
The views from the hotel are stunning and many of the rooms have balconies. The rooftop pool is a great place to unwind and the hotel’s restaurant is one of the very best in the city.

Overview
An iconic hotel for an iconic city, the Copacabana Palace is synonymous with Rio de Janeiro and is very much a destination in itself.
The rooms, facilities and service here are truly first class and you will feel very special lounging in the beautiful pool area, which is one of the most elegant in all the city.
The hotel is a short distance from the more fashionable districts (Copacabana no longer being the top of the pile) and you may find yourself making a short taxi ride to the best restaurants, bars and beaches.
Service at the Copacabana Palace is the best in the city.

Overview
Set in the charming old colonial neighbourhood of Santa Teresa, this hotel offers a different approach to the Rio experience away from the high rise beach hotels. The location up on the hill offers a great viewpoint from which to admire the city and an oasis of calm in which to relax.
The hotel has full spa facilities, beautifully decorated rooms, and a great pool area. Formally a colonial farm house, the building has been carefully restored and converted with its history in mind and a light modern touch; using old woods and natural fabric but cut with clean modern lines. Rooms are also equipped with all modern comforts that you would expect in a contemporary luxury hotel.

Overview
Located right across the street from its own private strip of Copacabana beach, the JW Marriot Hotel Rio de Janeiro is ideally located to soak the best of the city.
245 rooms are modern and elegantly decorated, the best of them featuring wonderful views out to sea. Sleep is guaranteed despite the buzzing location, with beds surrounded by thick walls and light-blocking drapes.
Relax around the sparkling rooftop pool, treat yourself to a massage, or enjoy cocktails and excellent Brazilian food at The Carioca. There’s also a restaurant in the lobby, with many other fine options a short walk away, and a state of the art fitness centre to work off some over indulgence.

Christ the Redeemer statue is Rio’s most famous attraction with his arms stretched out, he looks to be blessing the entire city. At 710 metres above the centre on the Corcovado hill, the statue is surrounded by wide, open terraces from where you get unbeatable vistas of the city's impressive littoral, the southern neighbourhoods of Copacabana and Ipanema, the Lagoon, the Sugar Loaf and the town of Niterói.
The faded grandeur of this part of the city, often referred to as the Montmartre of Rio, set into the hills close to the centre of town, still retains a rich cultural atmosphere of art, music and history. Mansions line the narrow streets struggling with the encroaching vegetation and incline, and is still home to many painters cafes and artists studios. You can stop for a drink or lunch at one of the many charming restaurants, bistros and cafes that populate Santa Teresa’s lively streets. Your guide will also take you to the Ruins Park, a cultural centre in the remains of a 19th century house which has a Belvedere that commands some of the best views over Rio.
Your guide will escort you through the narrow 19th century streets at your required pace, stopping at the magnificent Baroque churches and the ruins of the old port from where most of Brazil’s gold left for its long journey to Europe. You will also see many other culturally interesting and historical attractions that illustrate the city’s rich and varied heritage.
This massive granite rock, 396 metres tall, is one of the city’s most emblematic landmarks, adorning many a postcard. You will take the cable car with your guide from the Guanabara Bay entrance in the Urca district. At the zenith the view of Rio and its neighbourhoods sprawled over bays, coves, and appearing from dense green hillsides is unrivalled and quite spectacular.
