Overview
Located at the best end of Copacabana beach (adjacent to Ipanema) the Sofitel Rio de Janeiro Ipanema is one of the best beachfront hotels on this strip. Rooms are high quality having been recently refurbished in a modern style with the luxury amenities that you expect in a 5 star hotel.
The views from the hotel are stunning and many of the rooms have balconies. The rooftop pool is a great place to unwind and the hotel’s restaurant is one of the very best in the city.

Overview
An iconic hotel for an iconic city, the Copacabana Palace is synonymous with Rio de Janeiro and is very much a destination in itself.
The rooms, facilities and service here are truly first class and you will feel very special lounging in the beautiful pool area, which is one of the most elegant in all the city.
The hotel is a short distance from the more fashionable districts (Copacabana no longer being the top of the pile) and you may find yourself making a short taxi ride to the best restaurants, bars and beaches.
Service at the Copacabana Palace is the best in the city.

Overview
The Fasano Rio is the most stylish hotel in Rio. Set on Ipanema beach front and designed by Phillipe Starck, this is a stunning property. The Fasano brings an air of understated cool and luxury that has been somewhat lacking in some of the other beach-front hotels in Rio.
The rooms are immaculately decorated with a combination of period pieces, original artwork and chic-modern style. We recommend the Deluxe sea view category or above. Each has a private balcony with views out to sea and king size beds with Egyptian cotton sheets and goose down pillows. For that extra touch of luxury and pampering, there is also butler service.
The facilities include an excellent bar, perhaps the city’s best seafood restaurant and a stunning rooftop infinity pool.

Overview
Set in the charming old colonial neighbourhood of Santa Teresa, this hotel offers a different approach to the Rio experience away from the high rise beach hotels. The location up on the hill offers a great viewpoint from which to admire the city and an oasis of calm in which to relax.
The hotel has full spa facilities, beautifully decorated rooms, and a great pool area. Formally a colonial farm house, the building has been carefully restored and converted with its history in mind and a light modern touch; using old woods and natural fabric but cut with clean modern lines. Rooms are also equipped with all modern comforts that you would expect in a contemporary luxury hotel.

Overview
Emiliano Rio enjoys one of the city’s most coveted locations, right on Copacabana Beach. It is contemporary and cool, and embodies everything that is so wonderful about this South American city.
There are 90 suites and apartments, many of which have balconies and beautiful ocean views. Decor is simple and elegant, the light bright colour scheme perfect for enhancing the blue skies and golden sands that surround the hotel.
Emile Restaurant specialises in carioca cuisine, using local, small scale producers to showcase the best of the city. Sip a cocktail at the Emile Bar then head up to the rooftop for light, healthy bites and a dip in the beautiful swimming pool that looks out over Copacabana.
There is an incredible spa located on the 11th floor offering a range of revitalising treatments as well as space to simply uwind and relax.
→ Find out moreSpending your days in this 'Marvellous City', you can explore and enjoy Rio de Janeiro at your leisure. As Brazil's second largest city, it's often mistaken as its capital for the richness of culture found here. Wander the colourful streets, which host the famous annual carnival and take in the breathtaking views from atop the Corcovado Mountain just underneath the shade of Christ the Redeemer, or stroll the famed Copacabana Beach that sets this city apart from any other. With manmade sights of significance, such as the stadium of Maracanã and spectacles of natural beauty like Sugar Loaf Mountain, there's plenty to fill your time and make your stay in Rio de Janeiro one to remember.
The beaches in Rio are part of what makes this city so popular. On this tour, you'll pass by more than ten different beaches while getting the chance to do stand-up paddleboarding in a beautiful natural reserve.
Far from the centre and other urban suburbs, you'll take a narrow and beautiful road along a preserved area to reach some fantastic beaches. At the end of Barra Beach, you'll find Reserva, Recreio Pontal, Macumba, Prainha and Grumari, which remain almost deserted during the week, except for the surfers that spend all day long enjoying the best waves that the city can offer. Prainha is your first stop and as the name suggests, Prainha means little beach in Portuguese. It's a small beach with big waves and inviting, white sand. Grumari, a long beautiful beach surrounded by the natural landscapes of a protected area and unknown by many people, is the last beach of the route. This beach also has small open-air restaurants that serve fresh seafood, which comes straight from a local fishermen's community.
The final stop will be the Barra de Guaratiba area, where you'll have time for a stand up paddleboarding class across the mangroves of Restinga da Marambaia, a huge natural reserve.
Before dawn, you'll be driven up Corcovado Mountain - home to the famous Christ statue - for a private picnic breakfast as you watch the sun rise over Rio de Janeiro.
Your guide will meet you at your hotel in the evening to take you out for a night on the town. You'll visit the best bars, including Rio Scenarium, for some drinks and light food, as well as live music and dancing.

Paraty
Overview
The recently opened Casa Turquesa is the most luxurious hotel in Paraty. With just nine individually decorated suites and a pleasant pool area the pousada is located in the heart of the historical district near to the pier.
The building is originally 18th century but was damaged in a fire thirty years ago. It has since had a complete refurbishment retaining the colonial style of the area but to modern standards of luxury and comfort.
Each of the rooms is tastefully decorated and well appointed with air conditioning, flat screen televisions and large bathrooms.
→ Find out moreOne of the most charming, colonial towns on the Costa Verde coast, Paraty is a Brazilian gem set by a picturesque bay. Your Travel Designer will be able to arrange a tour that allows you to understand the history of this quaint town, or perhaps you would like to visit a local cachaca farm to learn how they make their famous sugar cane rum, board a schooner boat trip or simply take time out to relax.
Explore the stunning beaches, deserted coves, islands, rainforest fringes and underwater aquarium of Paraty's coast aboard a speedboat.
Differing from other colonial cities, Paraty's architecture has lots of character - irregular sidewalks, decorated walls, wrought-iron balconies and freemasonry hark back to the past. Today, Paraty today is a UNESCO site thanks to the fact that 65% of the municipal area is inside the national park of Serra da Bocaina. On this tour, local guides will tell legends and stories of the last century and you'll visit churches (Matriz, Santa Rita, Do Rosário e Das Dores), museums, the House of Culture and other points of interest.

- Serene spa with indoor and outdoor treatment rooms
- Poolside restaurant serving delicious cuisine
Overview
Run by Wilbur Das, creative director of the Diesel fashion label, Uxua exudes a great character and attention to detail, all with a rustic theme that merges effortlessly with the local setting. Accommodation is set in a number of private ‘Casas’ each with a unique style and character and ranging from one to three bedrooms; one is even a tree house. As a stunning centre-piece to the accommodation is the pool, lined with 40,000 turquoise aventurine quartz stones (native to Bahia) that are a testament to the careful and painstaking care taken to create a hotel that is at once unique but with roots in the location it is based.
The hotel is located on the ‘Quadrado’ or village square of Trancoso and has a spa with an extensive range of treatments. The restaurant serves delicious cuisine made with fruits and spices grown in the hotel’s own gardens. Many of the ‘Casas’ have their own full kitchen and local chefs can be brought in to give you a lesson in local cuisine. The Casas themselves are large and equipped with all the amenities one would expect in a luxury accommodation, some include jacuzzis and private plunge pools.

Overview
Enjoying a fantastic location just steps from the sand of a clean, quiet and serene beach set to the south of Trancoso, Pousada Tutabel is a luxurious lodge complex surrounded by beautiful nature. Presenting a peaceful retreat but just a short distance from the charming village of Trancoso and its famous 16th-century church, this is a setting that cries out for relaxation.
Home to three different ranges of suite that are spread throughout the hotel’s verdant grounds, each is individually decorated and presents light and airy spaces in which to slow down and appreciate the calming surroundings. The largest Tutabel suites are surrounded by nature and are decorated with attractive contemporary touches, while the slightly smaller Pitanga suites enjoy views over the private garden, almost feeling part of the flora. The smallest suites are the Sapoti range, boasting partial sea views and inviting outdoor terraces for some al fresco living.
Guests will enjoy a fine example of Brazilian gastronomy during their stay at the hotel, with food and drink served in the main lodge area, backed by a soundtrack of the nearby sea. The on-site wellness facilities promise to keep guests healthy and rejuvenated, with a gym and spa offering a range of fitness and treatment opportunities, while the inviting outdoor pool will effortlessly draw guests during the heat of the afternoon sun.
