Cusco
Overview
Palacio Nazarenas, a beautifully-restored old palace and convent, is Belmond’s latest hotel in Cusco and another triumph on the same par as the nearby Monasterio.
The hotel has been conscientiously renovated so that guest bask not only in modern luxury but in the history of Cusco, with cloistered gardens, fountains, walls of Incan stones, lovely terraces and flowered patios to wander amongst.
The style is sympathetic to the colonial era in regards to its lavishness but also outfitted to modern demands and designs. For example, all of its rooms are oxygen-enriched to help ease the altitude for visitors, and it boasts the city’s first outdoor pool.

Overview
Cusco’s most famous and prestigious hotel, Monasterio is a beautifully restored monastery in the heart of town just steps away from the main plaza, finest restaurants and best museums. Built around Incan foundations, adorned with antique Spanish design, the hotel is an important historical landmark and is protected by the National Institute of Culture.
The 126 unique rooms offer a great mix of elegance and comfort, ranging from cozy quarters to expansive suite. The hotel also goes the extra mile in terms of guests’ comfort with the provision of some oxygen enriched bedrooms to help acclimatize to the high altitude.
There are two restaurants – Illariy in the cloisters opening out over the leafy courtyard where you’ll find delicious breakfasts and light lunches, and El Tupay which serves fine international cuisine created from local ingredients, often accompanied by opera. The relaxed lobby bar is the place to sip pisco sours after a day exploring.

Salkantay
An early start from Cusco and a drive to the Tarawasi ruins begins your first day. Onto the mountain village of Mollepata, you'll then begin a mild 4-hour trek up the "Camino Real" to ease you into the altitudes, ending at the Salkantay Lodge and your bed for the evening.
Day two is spent at leisure for rest or doing various activities, depending upon your level of acclimatisation. You may choose to embark on a half-day hike to a glacial lake, as a good introduction and preparation to high altitude trekking. Spend one more night at the Salkantay Lodge.
This is the big day - the start of your four-day trek to Machu Picchu. Hike up the Rio Blanco Valley to a pass of 4,600 m (15,000 ft), taking in the magnificent views of the Vilcabamba mountain range and keeping your eyes peeled for Condors. Descend to Wayra Lodge and your well-earned bed for the evening.
A slightly easier day after the hard first day's trek. A leisurely breakfast, then hiking down to the Salkantay River, and a Pachamanca-style lunch at your overnight accommodation of the Colpa Lodge.
Descend into the Santa Teresa River Valley, stopping along the river for a hot picnic lunch. Private vehicle then takes you to the beginning of the Llactapata Inca Trail for a short climb to the Lucma Lodge, and your lodge for the evening.
The last day of the trek. Head up to the Llactapata pass for unique views of Machu Picchu (a view few tourists ever glimpse). Visit the recently restored Llactapata Ruins before lunch at the observatory and final descent to the Aobamba River, then a short train ride to Aguas Calientes for the night.
Wake up early to have breakfast at the hotel to then make your way up to Machu Picchu (30 min by bus). Early morning is the best time to see the ruins and you'll be given a complete guided tour of Machu Picchu (2 hours). Guests will have about four additional hours to explore the site on their own (there is a lot to do and see). Afterwards, we will return by bus to Aguas Calientes for lunch and to go to the train station for the afternoon departure. The train will take you to Ollantaytambo (1½ hrs), where a private vehicle awaits to take us to Cusco (1 ½ hrs). Upon arrival in Cusco (approximately 7-8pm) you will be take to the your chosen hotel.
