Days 1–3

Discover the diverse culture of Amman

Your adventure begins in Amman, a city of contrasts, offering both ancient ruins and thriving modern life. Enjoy a tour of the citadel and downtown, and dinner at one of the city’s most authentic Lebanese restaurants. Then spend a whole day in the ancient city of Jerash, one of the best preserved cities of the Roman Empire.

Jerash guided tour

Jerash is a truly incredible site, extremely well preserved and with remains from Neolithic times, as well as Greek, Roman, Byzantine, Umayyad and others. As one of the best preserved cities of the Roman Empire, visited by Emperor Hadrian 129 AD, it’s possible to walk within the tracks of chariot wheels that are still visible in the paving stones.

Reservation at Lebanese House

Known as one of Jordan’s most delicious restaurants, enjoy your reservation at Lebanese House today.

Amman Citadel & Downtown

Begin your tour at the Citadel – a reminder that Amman has been inhabited for thousands of years, and was once a major Roman city. Although not as impressive as the Colosseum in Rome, the Citadel does impose on the modern city’s landscape, and provides a constant reminder of the rise and fall of civilisations. The Citadel is home to a small but extremely interesting museum which is well worth a visit, before exploring the modern aspects of the city and understanding a little about how modern Jordanians live, shop, eat, work and pray in this large, modern city.

Dead Sea Swim

Take an excursion to enjoy a relaxing swim in the Dead Sea. At 434 metres below sea level, where nature and history combine and rich sources of natural minerals create highly therapeutic waters – the Dead Sea is known as one of the natural wonders of the world.

Days 3–4

One night in ancient Petra

Spend a night in the rock-carved city of Petra – perhaps one of the most stunning and impressive ancient sites which one can visit anywhere in the world today. Walk through ravines, scale ancient steps and explore mesmerising ‘rooms’ and viewpoints on a guided tour of the highlights of the Nabatean city, which includes the stunning Treasury, theatre, tombs and the colonnaded street. While here, delve into the region’s culinary delights and learn to concoct your own Jordanian dishes during a private cooking class.

Arabic Cooking Class in Petra

With the guidance of skilled and experienced kitchen hands, you will delve into the intricacies of the Arabic kitchen, discovering the art of preparing a traditional Arabic meal. Immerse yourself in the captivating world of spices, as Petra, renowned for its vibrant spice trade, takes centre stage. Prepare for an exploration of the colourful and aromatic additions that make these dishes truly remarkable. As you skillfully chop and cook, engaging conversations with friendly locals will provide insights into their way of life, fostering a deeper cultural understanding. At the end of your cooking class, sit down and enjoy the mouthwatering feast prepared by your own hands.

Days 4–5

A magical night in Wadi Rum

A valley carved out of the granite rock and sandstone in southern Jordan, Wadi Rum is steeped in history, culture, and mythological lore. No trip to Jordan is complete without a trip into the desert and you will stay in an authentic Bedouin camp and explore the sands on an exciting 4×4 tour.

Wadi Rum Jeep Tour

Jordan, The Wadi Rum Desert - tourist visiting the desert

Embark on an exhilarating jeep tour through the magnificent desert alongside a knowledgeable local Bedouin guide. As you traverse this breathtaking terrain, take advantage of the opportunity to engage with your guide, delving into his unique way of life, the cherished traditions of the Bedouin culture, and the secrets of desert survival—all of which stand in stark contrast to our own familiar existence.

Days 5–8

Relaxation in Aqaba

Spend time on the coast in Jordan’s only coastal city, Aqaba. Enjoy your days at leisure either relaxing or taking part in some of the many watersport activities on offer here (the diving is spectacular). There’s also an underwater museum, beautiful beaches and plenty of history and culture to immerse yourself in on dry land.
