Jumeirah Dar Al Masyaf
Sublime summer houses surrounded by water
Jumeirah Dar Al Masyaf does things a little differently to most hotels in Dubai. Each room is like its own little Arabian summerhouse, with ornately carved wooden doorways and beautiful, detailed fabrics in all colours. Some look out onto the garden courtyard where intricate tiling and lush green plants make it feel almost Mediterranean, while others enjoy views over the turquoise lagoon that surrounds the property.
There’s little reason to go beyond the walls of this enchanting resort that’s built in the traditional, old-style Emirati architecture, but if you do you’ll find you’re a stone’s throw from the boutiques of the Souk Madinat Jumeirah, the glassy sails of the spectacular Burj Al Arab, and Wadi Wadi Waterpark, a family favourite in Dubai. You can unwind onsite at the Al Qasr Talise Spa, or take a serene boat trip around the lagoon to see the rustic architecture here that contrasts so beautifully with the glassy skyscrapers beyond.
