Kokomo Private Island

Located at the tip of the Kadavu Island Group and surrounded by the Great Astrolabe Reef, Kokomo Private Island is the epitome of pure escapism. As soon as you approach the island, either by private seaplane or helicopter, you immediately get the feeling you have arrived someone very special. A lush green interior gives way to powder white sand which in turn seeps into the sparkling turquoise waters of the Pacific. The retreat is spread across 140 acres, giving guests a sense of seclusion and total privacy. There are 21 beachside villas scattered across the island’s two longest beaches, with the option of one, two or three bedrooms. The open-plan villas are bright and airy, simple, sophisticated decor fused with traditional Fijian influences. There are also five hilltop residences, nestled among the natural rainforest, offering spectacular views across the island and the ocean, as well as one owner’s residence which enjoys a prime beachfront location. All accommodation options come with a private infinity pool and walled garden. Organic fruits and vegetables grown on the island and seafood harvested from the surrounding waters are used to create beautiful dishes with a tropical touch, which can be enjoyed at the Beach Shack restaurant, the poolside cafe or at secluded spot on the island. All your meals are included with your stay. The Great Astrolabe Reed is the fourth largest in the world and exploring the pristine waters that surround the island is a highlight of any stay. Snorkel, swim, dive, water ski or kayak through the underwater world then head back on land to play tennis or hike and bike across the island.

Yasawa Island Resort and Spa is located at the tip of the Yasawa Islands – whose name means heaven – famous for their white sand beaches. The resort is the only commercial development on the island, shares this pristine environment with just six small villages, and access to 11 private beaches. 18 luxury bungalows are nestled among the palm trees, just moments from the sandy beach. With their expansive decks, thatched cabana, hammock and outdoor shower, they are the perfect place to soak up your idyllic surroundings. There is a two-bedroom villa, perfect for groups of friend or families, as well as a honeymoon villa set apart from the rest of the resort at the end of a deserted beach and with its own horizon pool overlooking the ocean. Local fishermen deliver fish, lobster and crab to the resort which is cooking with fresh fruit and vegetables to create beautiful tropical dishes which can be enjoyed at the al fresco restaurant, in the privacy of your villa or on the beach. All meals are included with your stay. The resort is surrounded by the sparkling waters of the South Pacific Ocean and swimming, snorkelling and diving allows you to explore this beautiful underwater world. There is also the option to visit the nearby Blue Lagoon Caves, take a cooking class, visit the local villages and take part in a traditional Fijian kava ceremony.

Likuliku Lagoon Resort

Likuliku means ‘calm waters’ in the Malolo dialect, and this retreat in the Mananuca Islands is the perfect place to relax and unwind. Historically the lagoon provided a safe harbour for war canoes during rough weather, but today it is a refuge for those seeking the ultimate island getaway. There are 45 bures built using natural materials with traditional Fijian design touches such as hand-woven coconut husk artwork and palm internal thatching. 35 of the bures have direct access to the beach, 18 of which also feature a plunge pool. These beachfront bures have day beds, a private courtyard and outdoor shower. For something really special, there are ten over-water bures which sit above the sparkling waters of the South Pacific. Dishes at the al-fresco restaurant are fresh, clean and creative with a focus on local seafood and tropical fruits. You can choose to dine at the beachside decks beneath the restaurant for something more intimate or enjoy a romantic picnic on the beach. All meals are included with your stay. You are surrounded by pristine waters and you can swim, snorkel and dive to your heart’s content. There is also the option to fish, visit the local villages, go island hopping, take a dip in the pool, or relax in the Tatadra Spa, which fitingly translates as ‘house of dreams’.

In a sweeping bay on the idyllic Malolo Island, Six Senses Fiji spans around a private golden sandy beach and turquoise lagoon. 24 spacious standalone villas can be found nestled in lush landscaped greenery or directly on the beachfront, each with private pools, decks and outdoor showers.
