My love of travel started when I volunteered in Namibia at a wildlife reserve. I’m a big animal lover so it made sense that my first solo trip would be centred around animals. I will never forget that feeling of excitement seeing a lion in the wild for the first time. I spent two months looking after animals on the reserve, going on daily game drives and hiking in some of the most remote regions in the country. I went home, quit my job and spent 15 months travelling around the world solo including a marine volunteer project in South Africa. For me, Africa has the best skies, sun rises and memories.

My most memorable trip
Okavango Delta
I recently visited the Okavango Delta in the green season and saw lots of babies! I’ve never seen so many baby animals in one place and was lucky enough to watch an Impala give birth.
Best destination for families
Kenya
I feel that Kenya is a great place for families. The Masai Mara is famous for a reason, the wildlife alone is enough reason to go, however there’s a large array of activities for all ages. Including learning how to make a traditional arrow with a Masai Warrior, to biking in the hills of Laikipa, there’s something for everyone.

My favourite trip
Introducing Zimbabwe
I love that this trip feels off the beaten track despite having an amazing density of wildlife. I enjoy the range of activities that you can do at Hwange and Mana Pools, it really is a full safari immersion.

My favourite hotel
Simbambili Game Lodge
My favourite hotel is Simbambili in Sabi Sands. The views as soon as you walk into the lodge are amazing as they have a waterhole right outside the camp. Animals are always frequenting which makes for great sightings! The rooms are decorated with traditional African materials creating an authentic feel but my favourite element is the outdoor shower with unbeatable views! It’s in a great location, you won’t have to go far to see wildlife.
