Middle East & Silk Route Concierge

I love travel because it breaks down stereotypes and fosters deep connections, especially in a region like the Middle East. Travel challenges misconceptions and reveals the region’s true warmth and diversity. Engaging with locals, exploring vibrant markets and ancient sites and experiencing the culture firsthand allow me to see beyond the surface and build meaningful relationships. Travel allows us to uncover the genuine stories of the people and places, enriching our understanding and appreciation of the world.

My most memorable trip

Sumba Island

My honeymoon to Nihi on Sumba Island was unforgettable. The secluded hotel gave us the perfect opportunity to truly disconnect from everything. The local people were incredibly kind and welcoming, adding to the warmth of the experience. We spent our days surfing, spear fishing, and even swimming with horses, which made the trip feel like a dream. Being surrounded by such untouched nature while indulging in adventurous activities made it the perfect blend of excitement and relaxation.

On my bucket list

Panama

Panama is my dream destination because it perfectly blends adventure, natural beauty, and laid-back luxury. I’ve always been drawn to places where I can disconnect, and Islas de Secas offers just that – a secluded, pristine paradise where I could dive, snorkel, or simply unwind on the beautiful beaches.

My favourite trip

Mongolia Overland Explorer

The Mongolia Overland Explorer is my favourite trip from Jacada because it offers a truly adventurous experience in one of the most remote and untouched landscapes on Earth. The trip combines rugged overland travel with cultural encounters. The breathtaking scenery, from the vast steppes to the Gobi Desert, paired with the adventure of exploring such a wild destination makes it a dream trip for me!

The best destination for families

Oman

Oman is an excellent destination for families due to its welcoming atmosphere, safety, and rich cultural experiences. The country offers a variety of family-friendly activities, from exploring ancient forts and the bustling souks of Muscat to adventurous desert safaris and boat trips along the stunning coastline. Oman’s beautiful landscapes, including the mountains, lush wadis, and pristine beaches, provide endless opportunities for outdoor exploration. Additionally, the warm hospitality of the Omani people makes families feel welcome, and the blend of nature, culture and adventure makes it a perfect destination for all ages.

My top tips

Try to experience Petra by Night for the magical candle–lit path and the breathtaking illumination of the Treasury, which offers an unforgettable atmosphere.

Food icon

Try all the food – you won't regret it. Home–cooked meals are better than restaurant meals in the Middle East.

Learn a few basic phrases in the local language. Locals love when you make an effort, even if it’s just “shukran” (‘thank you’ in Arabic).

Don't be alarmed with the morning call to prayer from the Mosques - it’s a really powerful and beautiful sound.
