My love for travel started early as it’s been a constant part of my life. With my entire family working in the travel industry, as well as living in various countries with my mom, I was exposed to the world from a young age. Moving frequently and experiencing different cultures broadened my horizons in ways that formal education never could. Every trip to a new country brings the excitement of learning about its people, traditions, and, of course, its food. As a foodie, exploring global cuisines has always been one of the most rewarding parts of travelling for me.

Best destination for families

Kenya & Zanzibar

I think that Kenya coupled with Zanzibar makes a fantastic combination of destinations for families. Kenya is a great destination for a family–friendly safari as many of the lodges offer special kids’ clubs and activities. Wildlife spectacles such as the Great Migration and the Big Five will enthral families of all ages, and you can balance it with some amazing beach time on the pristine white shores of Zanzibar.

On my bucket list

Australia

Australia has always been on my bucket list because of the vastness of the country and all it has to offer, from golden beaches to the outback, dazzling cities and so much more. I’m also very excited to try the wine!

My favourite trip

Luxury Sri Lanka and Maldives

A Luxury Sri Lanka and Maldives Getaway is an amazing trip as you get to experience a bit of everything. Immerse yourself in Sri Lanka’s historic cities and culture with a stay in Galle and a trip to the Tea Country, combined with a thrilling safari in Yala National Park. Unwind after all the excitement with a stay in an overwater bungalow, looking out onto some of the most captivating blue water in the world. What more could you want?

My favourite restaurant

Malaysia

One of the best chicken tikkas I have ever had was during a street food tour of Malacca in Malaysia. Our guide took us down an unassuming side street to a small restaurant, but the food was incredible. I’ve never experienced such a delicious depth of flavour.

If you want to experience Sigiriya Rock without the crowds, visit the neighbouring Pidurangara Rock as it gives you a great view of Sigiriya without all the tourists.

When visiting Sri Lanka, visit lesser known national parks such as the beautiful Wilpattu National Park, and Horton National Park, where there have been more and more leopard sightings in recent years.

If you are looking to enjoy a wonderful beach stay but don’t have the budget for the Maldives, consider Sri Lanka. There are some wonderful beaches and great hotels here.

The traditional seasonal divisions are becoming less reliable, with weather patterns changing yearly. Don’t be too put off by travelling during the rainy season as there is often still amazing weather.
