My working life has been consumed with travel in the best possible way. After graduation I joined a publishing house, working as an editor for the in-flight magazines of Cathay Pacific and Dragonair, before becoming a travel writer for the Ming Pao Daily, one of Hong Kong’s leading Chinese newspapers. Over the years, I have travelled to more than 70 countries, including the likes of Greenland, Brazil, Namibia, Ethiopia, Botswana, Zambia, South Africa, Kenya, Bhutan, Nepal, the Seychelles, Bali, Thailand, and elsewhere around South-East Asia.
One of my favourite places is Namibia. It is a place full of contrast and colours, and I was left dazzled by its perfectly sculpted sand dunes and stunning sunsets against the backdrop of a never-ending horizon. Another of my favourite countries is Myanmar, where the people remain religious in a most charming and engaging way. Bagan is exceptionally beautiful, and even though I had seen it many times online and in magazines, when I came face to face with the silhouettes of hundreds of temples, I was blown away. The scenery is powerful, yet peaceful.
All travel is about experiencing another way of life. Every place has its beauty. Some have stunning scenery and cultural heritage, and all are filled with lovely, interesting people. Every trip can be amazing; the trick, I believe, is to approach each one in the right way.
